Sodium acetate

Description

Sodium acetate, CH3COONa, also abbreviated NaOAc, also sodium ethanoate, is the sodium salt of acetic acid. This colourless salt has a wide range of uses.

Application

Dye and colour intermediate, pharmaceuticals, cinnamic acid, soaps, photography, purification of glucose, meat preservation, medicine, electroplating, tanning, dehydrating agent, buffer, lab reagent, food additive.

Shipment / Storage

Sodium acetate is shipped in bags or drums. Subject to loss in weight.
