Contents

Very soft and malleable silver-grey metal.

Tarnishes rapidly in air. Insoluble in water, resistant to corrosion and relatively impenetrable to radiation. Although this material is not subject to the provisions of the IMDG Books, it is toxic by ingestion and by dust inhalation. In contact with acids highly toxic gases will be formed.

When offered for shipment in bulk in containers, pay attention to the high specific gravity of the material and the maximum payload of the cargo transport unit.

Reference is made to the relevant IMO regulations of hazardous cargo.
