==Description==
 
The dried exudate from the stems of a species of Acacia. White top yellowish-white flakes and granules shipped in [[jute]] sacks or powder shipped in polythene/paper bags. Used in the pharmaceutical, textile and cosmetics industries, also used in the manufacture of adhesives. <br><br>Contact with water or other moisture will render the gum blocky which, if slight, may be reconditioned by shivering. <br><br>If damage is severe, general reconditioning is necessary. Subject to loss in bulk if bags or sacks are damaged. Will absorb odours, especially from goods such as spices and hides. <br><br>
