Babassu expeller, is the residue of the Babassu nut

The Babassu palms grows in the jungles of Brazil. Expeller, is the residue of the Babassu nut from

which the oil has been pressed and retains  approximately  6% of oil.

The percentage of moisture and oil must not be higher than 15% and the temperature of the product

before loading must not exceed 35°C. Do not load during rain.

A certificate, issued by a recognized authority, should be asked for (concerning the oil and moisture

contents). Since this product is very dusty, other cargoes must be protected. Temperature should be

taken regularly. Apply proper surface ventilation. Fire to be suppressed with CO2. At all times, a

loading [[sample]] in airtight packing must be kept on board. Do not stow together (in the same)

container with cotton, sisal, pepper, carnauba  wax, and paranuts

because of it's generation of dust.

See IMDG Books under Seed Cake or Expellers UN Nos. 1386 or 2217 and also BC code.
